📚 The Legacy of Yamawaki Hamono × Gōuma-no-jō Yoshihiro
🔹 With over 1,500 years of forging history, Sakai City is Japan’s center of traditional sword and kitchen knife craftsmanship. Over 90% of Japan’s professional chefs use Sakai-forged knives.
🔹 “Gōuma-no-jō Yoshihiro” is one of the three legendary swordsmiths in Japanese history, standing alongside Masamune and Yoshimitsu. As noted in the Kyōhō Meibutsuchō, feudal lords of the Sengoku period considered his blades symbols of power and status.
🔹 In the late Edo period, a smith named Masakuni, inspired by Yoshihiro’s sword style, had a dream that led him to settle in Sumiyoshi, Senshū. He declared himself Yoshihiro’s artistic successor and continued the legacy.
🔹 In 1950 (Shōwa 25), the third-generation Yamawaki registered “Gōuma-no-jō Yoshihiro” as their official brand. To this day, Yamawaki Hamono specializes in Honyaki and Hon-Kasumi knives, handcrafted with traditional polishing techniques.

✨ Choosing a Gōuma-no-jō Yoshihiro knife is choosing the legacy of craftsmanship, culture, and spirit.
Whether you're a chef seeking precision or a collector valuing cultural artistry, this is a masterpiece worth owning.
